Thunder egg half sourced from Succor Creek near the Oregon and Idaho border. Cut and polished in my shop. Width is 5.5" and height is 4.5". This is a thunder egg that will get some attention! Light blue agate with white waterlines fills this egg and is surrounded by the red/brown shell.
Thunder eggs are nodule-like rock, similar to a filled geode, that are formed within rhyolitic volcanic ash layers and no two are alike. Thunder eggs are the Oregon state rock and personal favorite of mine.
